IMAGING EVALUATION OF THE PLACENTA

Learning Objectives: This course aims to train and enhance knowledge in ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging for placental evaluation. By the end of the course, participants will be able to: Recognize the normal placental appearance on ultrasound and MRI. Understand MRI protocols tailored for placental assessment. Become familiar with structured reporting, with emphasis on placental evaluation by MRI. Understand the concepts and imaging findings of the main placental disorders (placenta accreta spectrum, placenta previa, placental abruption, and gestational trophoblastic disease) and their practical implications. Target Audience: Radiologists and residents in radiology and diagnostic imaging. Course Description: This course focuses on imaging evaluation of the placenta using ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Theoretical lectures will be provided covering the main aspects of placental assessment, including MRI protocols, structured reporting, normal findings on ultrasound and MRI, and interpretation and diagnosis of the major placental disorders. To consolidate learning, imaging studies will be made available on a DICOM platform for pre-analysis and subsequent live discussion, in addition to supporting theoretical material (syllabus) for reference.

DESMISTIFICANDO A ENDOMETRIOSE DO COMPARTIMENTO LATERAL DA PELVE

Learning Objectives: Present the anatomy of the lateral pelvic compartment to radiologists in a simple and clear manner, detailing vessels, nerves, and the ureter. Prepare radiologists to evaluate endometriosis in this compartment using both ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Describe the optimal imaging protocols for assessment with ultrasound and MRI. Present the surgeon’s anatomical and surgical perspective and outline what is required in the radiology report. Course Description: This course aims to present the anatomy of the lateral pelvic compartment in a clear and didactic way, with emphasis on identifying the main anatomical structures—vessels, nerves, and the ureter. The goal is to train radiologists to evaluate endometriosis in this compartment using both ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, integrating technical, anatomical, and clinical aspects. Throughout the course, ideal imaging protocols will be detailed, focusing on exam standardization and improved diagnostic accuracy. The surgeon’s perspective will also be addressed, highlighting what surgeons expect to find described in the radiology report and how this communication directly impacts surgical planning and outcomes.
